crafting for kids: geometric necklace

Madolyn Oliver is back today with kid/teen friendly project!

With spring here and summer coming up I like to start dressing in brighter colors. Along with colorful clothing I like to wear colorful accessories but sadly they can be very expensive so I thought, "Why not make my own spring and summer jewelry?" So that is exactly what I did. I made a colorful, fun, interesting, and ready for summer necklace!

Supplies

-paint (colors of your choice)
-necklace chain
-artist's painters tape (Mine is Martha Stewart from Michaels)
-wooden triangle pieces from Michaels

First, choose the shapes and sizes of your wooden necklace pieces.

Next, using the artist's painters tape, create lines and/or patterns on your wooden necklace pieces.

Next, paint the sections colors of your choice.

Then, once the paint has dried, carefully remove the tape. Finally string the chain through the holes and you have your gorgeous new necklace!
